What artists and labels under a partner see
If your label or distributor works with HILLS, here's what your account shows: releases, review, earnings, statements, payouts and where to get help.
Updated
Many artists and labels reach HILLS Music through a partner: a label, distributor or management company that works with us and looks after you. If that’s you, your account is part of your partner’s workspace. You sign in to your own, smaller view, and you see only your own music and money.
If your partner runs a white-label platform, you sign in on their domain and the whole workspace, including its emails, carries their name and logo.
Your releases
What you can do with releases depends on how your partner works with HILLS:
- Partners with a white-label platform: you create and edit your own releases, and submit them for review.
- Other partners: your partner makes every release for you. You can view your releases, follow them to the stores and edit their marketing (the pitch, press files and social links), but not their metadata. The Releases page says Your label adds and changes releases.
When you submit a release, it may go to your partner first. Its status then reads In review with Waiting for [your label]’s review. Some partners review every release themselves; others leave review to HILLS Music. Either way you get a notification when it’s approved or sent back with Changes requested. See Submit your first release.
What’s in your menu
| Page | What you see there |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Your releases, streams and your share of revenue at a glance |
| Daily trends | What the stores report day by day for your recordings |
| Releases | Your releases, their tracks, music videos, Dolby Atmos versions and publishing works |
| Requests | YouTube OAC and Meta Artist Tag requests |
| Smartlinks | Smartlinks and pre-saves for your releases |
| Royalties | Your balance and share, your monthly statements and your transactions |
Accounts that can only view releases don’t get Smartlinks, YouTube OAC or Daily trends. Bulk upload, catalog transfer, DDEX delivery, API keys and AI assistant connections belong to your partner, not to artist accounts.
Your money
Revenue figures in your account are your share: what you earn by the revenue split your partner set for you, not the partner’s total.
- Statements. On a white-label platform your partner releases each month’s statements to you when they’re ready, so a month can appear a little after the partner sees it.
- Payouts. Your partner pays you, from their own Airwallex or PayPal account. Add where you want to be paid under Settings → Payouts: a bank account or a PayPal email. Your partner checks the details before approving them, because payouts go exactly there.
- Balance. Your partner decides whether you see a running balance of what they owe you.
HILLS Music doesn’t pay you directly and doesn’t set your split; questions about either go to your partner. See Pay your artists and labels for how it works on their side.
Getting help
You don’t have the HILLS live chat. Get help shows your partner’s support contact: an email address, phone number or help page they’ve chosen. If they haven’t added one yet, the panel says so; ask your partner directly.
Your sign-in
Your sign-in, password and two-factor settings are your own, under Settings → Security. To change the name or email on your account, ask your partner’s support.
Common questions
- Who pays me if I'm under a partner?
- Your partner does, from their own Airwallex or PayPal account, by the share you agreed with them. HILLS Music pays the partner.
- Why can't I create a release?
- Your partner creates releases for you unless they run a white-label platform. The Releases page then says that your label adds and changes releases.
- Who do I ask for help?
- Your partner. Their support contact is shown under Get help in the workspace. Artists and labels under a partner don't have the HILLS live chat.
