Label teams and artist sign-ins
For direct labels: invite teammates with only the tasks they need, and give your artists and sub-labels their own sign-in to see their music and earnings.
Updated
If you’re a label working directly with HILLS Music, you can bring two kinds of people into your account:
- Teammates, who work in your label’s account and do the tasks you give them.
- Artists and sub-labels, who get their own sign-in to see only their own music and what they’ve earned.
Before you add either, set up an authenticator app or a passkey on your own account under Settings → Security. The Team page and the sign-in buttons stay locked until you do.
Invite a teammate
- Open Settings → Team.
- Under Invite a teammate, enter their name and email.
- Tick the Tasks they can do (at least one).
- Choose Send invite.
They get an email to set their password; the link lasts 7 days. They then sign in as themselves and work in your label’s account.
| Task | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Releases and artists | Make and edit releases, publishing, artist profiles and bulk upload |
| Requests | Takedown requests (on a release’s page), Meta Artist Tag and YouTube OAC requests |
| Smartlinks and YouTube | Smartlinks and link in bio |
| Analytics | Streams, revenue analytics and Daily trends |
| Earnings | Read earnings and statements (no withdrawals or bank details) |
Every teammate can also use Live support, notifications and search. To change someone’s tasks, choose Change what they can do on their row; it takes effect on their next click. Remove from team signs them out everywhere, and what they did stays in the history.
Some things are never a teammate’s, whatever their tasks: withdrawals, bank details, the team itself, API keys and AI assistant connections.
Give an artist a sign-in
Your artists live on your Artists page (under Roster), with their profile on each store. To let one of them see their own numbers:
- Open Roster → Artists and find the artist. The Sign-in column shows No sign-in or Has a sign-in.
- Give the artist a sign-in: enter their name and email.
- Set Their share of what you earn on their music, from 0 to 100.
- Choose Send invite.
The artist gets an email to set a password (valid for 7 days). Once signed in they see:
- their own releases,
- Daily trends for their recordings,
- their Earnings: their share of what your label earns on their releases and recordings, and what you owe them,
- Payouts received: what you’ve paid them.
They also add the PayPal account or bank account you pay them to. The share counts for everything they earned so far too, so set it to what you’ve agreed with them. Remove sign-in takes their access away.
Sub-labels and imprints
Your Roster → Labels page lists your label and its imprints. A sub-label can get its own sign-in in exactly the same way, with its own share. It then sees the releases that carry its name as the label.
Paying your artists
HILLS Music pays your label. You pay your artists and sub-labels from your own Airwallex or PayPal account, under Finance → Payouts → Pay artists. See Pay your artists and labels.
Common questions
- Can a teammate withdraw money or change our bank account?
- No. Withdrawals, bank details, the team itself, API keys and AI assistant connections always stay with the label's own account, whatever tasks a teammate has.
- Can an artist with a sign-in edit releases?
- No. An artist's or sub-label's sign-in shows only their own catalog, Daily trends and earnings. The label makes and edits releases.
